Okay so we all notice when our hair is needing some serious attention but yet we tend to ignore it and carry on with our daily lives like it's fine, somehow it'll magically sort itself out.

In the mean time letting the damage get worse and worse, Then! You book an appointment to see your hair stylist, and of course (and rightly so by the way) get a telling off about all the don't's you were told not to do and of course resulting in getting more hair cut off than you'd like..right?!

I know it's a really painful time for anyone one who's had to go through this but we're all guilty of it at some point in our lives..including me so you're not alone!

Ladies if you want to grow your hair and/or have lush locks that everyone is envious of having instead of trying to maintain straw like horsey hair then read on...

Use Protection

Always, Always, Always use protection...

on your hair when it comes to styling tools. And for the love of god JUDY TURN DOWN THE HEAT, TURN DOWN THE HEAT, TURN DOWN THE HEAT..

You're literally frying your hair into shape by having it above 200°c so please keep it to 190°c and under, trust me your hair will thank you for it!

Now that we've gotten the grilling out of the way let's move on shall we..

Personally I'm not a fan of heat styling sprays as it just doesn't get through all the strands of your hair, it only touches the top layer so you might as well had not put any on in the first place.

Serums and oils is where it's always been at with me.

Products I'm loving

Loving the ever growing popular Moroccan oil.

I've always stood by this.. If you want the best you have to invest and it's so true!

You should always spend that little bit extra on your hair no matter the cost.

Absolutely love The Morrocan Oil as it's weightless, non sticky, it doesn't leave your hair looking or feeling greasy in the slightest, just magazine glossy.

But most importantly it protects your hair against the heat and you can't put a price on that.. Well alright you can over at Amazon for only £11 for a 25ml bottle.. you're welcome!

Obviously the less heat on your hair the better for it's condition. After I've washed it, I put a pea sized amount of the Morrocan oil onto the palm of my hand, rub it together and then comb through my mid-lengths to ends using my fingers then let my hair air dry.

Wear your mask

Stay Home. Protect the NHS. Save Lives

Haha no no not that mask, this one.....

Wear your mask

Buy it. Protect it. Save hair

We're completely obsessed with the 3- in- 1 Hair Food Mask from the Ultimate Blends range by Garnier.

I'm always up for trying new hair products and seeking which ones work the best, not only for myself but for my clients too. I'm always on the lookout for ones that add and lock in moisture to the hair.

As I wear hair extensions, which when you think about it is just dead hair attached to my real hair, i've got to work doubly hard to get that moisture into the extension hair so I'm always on the hunt for products that make my extensions look and feel like my own hair and I've become a massive fan of the Hair Food Masks.

I've been recommending the 'easy on the purse' products to all my clients and they all have said it's the best low budget mask they've used too.

It's always best to change your hair products occasionally so our hair doesn't get too used to the same thing and then stops working, so I tend to change my products every 3 months or so. I started off using the Papaya & Amla mask which was amazing and turned my hair silky soft (including my hair extensions) and gave it the perfect shine throughout. I have now moved onto Aloe Vera & Coconut which smells divine by the way and gives the same amazing results if not better.

So take your pick on which to try out first.

With the 3- in- 1 masks, I leave it in my hair for 5mins as a hair mask and then once a week I'll use it as a leave in conditioner concentrating on the ends of my hair only.

You can pick up a tub of the Hair Food Masks from your local supermarket, however they're on offer for £3.48 at Superdrug and £3.49 at Boots at the moment..what a bargain!!

Annnnd Cut...

Get booked in with a trim every 6-10weeks depending on how quickly your hair grows and whether or not it's in good condition (you may get away with 12weeks but if you're a serial heat user then not a chance). Regular trims will help keep your mane healthy, glossy and at it's best by cutting off the breakage, damage and split ends before it travels further up the cuticle resulting in more being cut off than you'd

like.

Secret Weapon

Okay ladies my last 'How To' tip.

This will literally change your hair forever..and your nose hairs for that matter!

My secret weapon of choice is Organic

Apple Cider Vinegar which you can pick up from Holland & Barrett for £6.99.

Now I know what you're thinking, "why am I gonna put something that stinks onto my hair..like no chance".

Which I totally get and I'm not gonna lie or sugar coat anything here but yes it does has a very potent smell to it so you might want to grab a peg for your nostrils.

However, by applying Apple Cider Vinegar to your hair, it's sorting the natural pH balance of your scalp which also clears excess build up of any dandruff/ dirt/ product build up you probably have on your scalp without realising it. The acid from the ACV will help close and smooth the cuticle on your hair leaving it soft and glossy.

Method I Use

• Shampoo your hair twice, once to remove the dirt and once to clean it, rinse with warm water

• Put 3 tablespoons of ACV into a spray bottle, fill the bottle half way with warm water and shake until mixed

• Spray the diluted mix all over your wet hair. Massage into your scalp

• Leave in for 10mins

• Rinse with cool water as this will help seal the hair cuticle

• Drain excess water from hair and apply Garnier Ultimate Blends Hair Food Mask for 5mins concentrating on your mid-lengths to ends

• Use this as a treatment only once a month.

And Voila, you have dream hair.
